KRISTEN  LAI

FOUNDER | DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, MARKETING & PRODUCT CONCEPT

Kristen hails from a past career as a lawyer. She obtained her law degree from the University of London, Queen Mary and began practicing as a litigation solicitor in the heart of London, England.

During her 8 years in London (outside of long hours in the law office), Kristen was exposed to London’s vibrant city life and myriads of social and cultural venues.  She was inspired by these experiences.

Kristen began to focus on discovering ways of how to contribute to her birth city by building spaces for people to live, connect and congregate. She moved home to Vancouver’s beautiful coastal mountains to pursue a vision of building spaces to animate the streets. Shortly thereafter, Blandford Properties was created.

Outside of the office, Kristen loves to connect with B.C.’s nature and adventure playland. She is an avalanche-certified snowboarder, loves trekking in the mountains, and currently spends free time improving on her golf swing.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Kristen also trained as a classical French chef in Paris, completing brief stints at Michelin-starred establishments in London and Paris. She loves cooking up gourmet meals for friends and family.

Kristen is open to meeting with start-ups, forward-thinking entrepreneurs, and unique hospitality brands to deciding solutions as to what makes her city tick.
